Noelle glared at Donovan and continued, "Why don't you try and see if you can say that to our parents' memorial photos?!"

"Noelle, you can stop pretending to be so righteous," Donovan replied. He pulled out a chair and slumped down onto it with a dejected look as he continued, "You've got someone powerful backing you up. That's why you can take it easy with everything you do.

"But it's not the same for me. Do you have any idea how hard it has been for me to run my own company all these years?"

Noelle stood still and replied, "You could've chosen not to start a business. With the inheritance Mom and Dad left behind, you already have more than enough to live comfortably for the rest of your life. You did all of this to satisfy your own ambition, so don't try to pin it on our parents."

"I did all of this to try and uncover the truth behind the car accident," he replied.

"You've already uncovered the truth now, but you're still thinking of taking the Merlock family's money. Stop pretending that you're doing all of this for some noble reason."

She stared at him and continued, "You're arrogant and self-centered. Worse, you're also a hypocrite with double standards. But even so, I never expected you to throw away your last shred of dignity when it came to our parents' deaths."

Donovan's gaze turned cold. "Say, how much is our dignity worth? The Liddell Corporation is experiencing financial difficulties. Meanwhile, you refuse to tell me anything despite already capturing Sean. Do you really think that I'm just going to sit here and wait for my demise?"

Noelle replied, "So you believe what Laura said that it was all Sean's fault? That the Merlocks had nothing to do with the accident?"

"I'm not blindly believing Laura. I also have my own plans to investigate the truth. Just hand Sean over to me."

Donovan had waited for far too long. He could not afford to wait any longer.

The Liddell Corporation had little time left. He desperately needed to know where the money had gone and whether it could still be recovered.

Noelle looked at him and replied, "The money's all lost in gambling. Sean racked up a mountain of debt from gambling, and that's how Mrs. Merlock was able to buy him off."

Donovan became extremely suspicious of her. "Noelle, do you really think that I'll just believe everything you say? You're probably wishing for my company to go under! I'll go and ask Sean myself!"
