No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 746

Cedric figured Noelle probably had not eaten anything at the wedding. However, she shook her head and said, "I'm not hungry."

She had eaten before the party started and had felt full the entire time.

Cedric gently patted her back. "Noelle, don't overthink things."

"I know. You don't have to say those comforting lines. I just need a little silence." She understood all the logic, but she needed space to process her emotions.

Cedric swallowed the words that were about to leave his mouth. In the end, he said nothing. He simply held her quietly in his arms and looked out the window. The city lights sparkled in the distance, glowing from every home. But deep down, he already knew—he had one of those lights right here with him.

Cedric held her like that for a long time. When he finally looked down and saw how tired she looked, he whispered, "You should rest."

Then, without asking, he carried her into the bedroom.

Noelle sat down on the edge of the bed. "I need to wash up first."

"Go ahead."

She went to freshen up and changed into her pajamas. When she came out, she saw him standing by the window—tall and quiet, his silhouette sharp against the night. She walked over to him and said softly, "Thank you for staying with me."

"You don't need to thank me. Because I'm not going anywhere." His voice was calm and steady, but it sent a tidal wave through her chest.

He gently patted her head. "Get some sleep. Don't think too much."

Cedric walked Noelle to bed and waited until she lay down, then pulled the covers over her.

She looked up at him with wide eyes and could not help but grab his finger, asking, "Will you stay with me tonight?"

She just did not want to be alone right now.

Cedric's heart melted. He nodded. "Of course."
