Just then, the light turned green, and a car horn blared from behind. Cedric snapped back to attention and quickly pulled forward.

Noelle glanced at him. She was just about to speak when her phone rang. She answered it right away and turned on speaker mode. "Ms. Lozano, what's going on?"

Tilly reported, "We just found out about the money Xenia transferred out earlier—it's gone."

"Gone? What do you mean gone?" Noelle's stomach dropped. "Was it Sean who moved the funds?"

"We can't confirm yet. But we've already sent someone to trace where the money went," Tilly replied. She had not expected that, even at this point, someone would still make a move on the fund.

Cedric's voice cut through, sharp and ice cold. "What the hell were your people doing? You didn't even have eyes on the money?"

"We're sorry, Mr. Greene. We thought he'd be too busy hiding. No one expected him to be bold enough to touch the money." Tilly sounded panicked, knowing this was a huge slip-up.

Cedric's tone did not soften. "Track it down. I don't care what it takes—find him."

"Understood."

The call ended. Noelle stared down at her phone, her mind racing. "Take me back to my apartment. I'll dig into it myself."

If the money was moved, there had to be a digital trail.

With that, Cedric pressed the gas and sped straight back to the apartment Noelle had purchased not long ago. As soon as they got there, Noelle kicked off her shoes, ran barefoot into her study, and powered on her computer.

She called Tilly again and said, "Sync the data with me."

"On it."

Noelle's fingers flew across the keyboard, eyes locked on the screen. Meanwhile, Cedric walked in after switching his shoes and holding a pair of house slippers. He bent down beside her and gently slid them onto her feet.

However, Noelle was too focused to notice anything happening around her. Cedric watched her for a moment before quietly stepping aside and making a call. Something about all this still did not sit right with him, and he had a gut feeling they were missing something.
