No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 739

Noelle's words hit Donovan hard. He denied loudly, "When have I done anything that disrespected our dead parents? You're the one who caused their deaths!"

Noelle stepped closer. "Because you adopted the daughter of our enemies and treated her so well!"

Donovan looked away. "We haven't even fully investigated this yet. Who knows if you're telling the truth?"

Noelle's gaze hardened. "And you're saying I killed Mom and Dad? What if that car accident wasn't just an accident but premeditated? Even if I hadn't eaten the cake and gone out that night, the accident still would've happened the next day!"

If the Merlock family really made a move because of that new energy project, there was no way they would have given up after one try. They would have tried again if they failed the first time.

Donovan was speechless.

Noelle continued, "And yet you've been blaming me for years, saying I killed them. I've endured this injustice all this time. Finally, I get to shove the truth in your face."

Donovan slumped. "Are you satisfied now?"

"No, not yet." Noelle stared him down. "When I catch Xenia's father, I want you to apologize at our parents' grave. You brought the enemy's daughter into our home, raised her, and in the end, she ruined your company. This must be karma."

Donovan looked disheveled. He couldn't even lift his head under the weight of her words.

Whether it was adopting the daughter of their enemy or letting her drive the company to ruin, both were undeniable truths.

Frank looked at Donovan's defeated figure and actually felt a pang of pity. He walked over to Noelle. "Noelle, that's enough. Donovan is hurting, too. He had no idea things would turn out like this."

"Oh, and you." Noelle turned to him and mocked, "You said the same things back then. All of you were the same. Did you think you can walk away from this clean?"
