Donovan was unrelenting. "Xenia, I'll show you hell if that money is gone."
Xenia was terrified and looked around anxiously. "Where's Wyatt?!"
She could tell things were spiraling out of control. The plan had been for the wedding to go on as scheduled, and she would quietly disappear after everything was settled. But all of it was ruined by Noelle.
Xenia's heart was pounding. She hurriedly crawled forward and clutched Donovan's pants. "Donovan, I didn't mean what I said. I was just upset because of all the things Noelle did!"
"Do you think I'll still believe you? Do you take everyone else for fools?" Donovan kicked her away and then called the maids outside, "Take her to the basement. Don't let her leave. And make sure she doesn't have a phone, either."
Just like that, Xenia was dragged away. She kept screaming for Wyatt, but he never showed up.
Noelle figured Wyatt was probably too stunned by what Xenia had said earlier. After all, he had always pampered her.
Noelle turned to Donovan smugly. "Do you think you'll get your money back? Do you actually think it's still with PZ Group?"
Donovan's expression turned ugly. "If you knew everything from the start, why the hell didn't you say anything? Did you enjoy watching us all get played like fools?"
As furious as he was at Xenia, he was equally annoyed with Noelle. None of this would have happened if she had come forward earlier.
"He's right, Noelle. You knew Xenia's father wasn't dead, so why didn't you talk to the family about it? Now everything is a mess for the company." Frank hadn't expected Noelle to remain silent despite knowing the truth.
Did she not trust her family?
Noelle laughed. "But I did talk about it. Have you forgotten? I literally said it last night in Mom and Dad's room."
Frank froze. That did sound familiar. But none of them had believed her at the time.
Donovan retorted, "But I would have believed you if you had shown me the photo right then!"
