Carl's expression was grim. "Are you saying that I should just wait here alone?!"
Frank looked at him and replied, "Diving down into the water now will just be you diving down into your own grave! Whatever. It's not like I can stop you if you really insist on going."
He decided not to persuade Carl any further. In the end, Carl could only watch from the surface despite already being suited up in diving gear.
Meanwhile, on the other side of things, Noelle was being guided through the water. She had no idea how much time had passed before everyone began to rise to the surface.
When she surfaced along with the rest of the group, she saw a fishing boat floating on the sea. It was a small boat that would easily go unnoticed in the vast ocean.
After being pulled aboard, Noelle took off her diving mask and looked at the man who had been taking care of her all the way. She stared at the man until he removed his diving mask and revealed a familiar face, leaving her utterly speechless.
Cedric reached out and gently wiped away her tears, but Noelle could not stop crying. Both of them had longed to see each other again, but now that they finally did, neither of them could utter even a single word.
Noelle felt as if they had not been apart for long at all when she saw Cedric. She reached out to his face and said, "You've lost weight."
Ceric pulled her into his arms and chided playfully, "You dummy."
The person he thought he had lost forever was finally back by his side. He felt as if he could ask for nothing more in life.
Neither of them said anything more and just held each other tightly. The others on board quietly moved to the other end of the boat so as not to bother the lovely couple.
The small fishing boat finally reached shore after some time, joining the numerous fishing boats docked together.
It was only then that Cedric let go of Noelle. "This is no place for us to chat. Come with me."
Noelle nodded and followed after him. The terrain was filled with complicated twists and turns, making it nearly impossible for her to tell her direction.
She would not have made it out if she had tried to escape by herself. The group soon reached a larger fishing boat.
