No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1453

Noelle's heart tightened with fear when she noticed Carl approach. He couldn't have seen anything, could he?

She quickly nudged the crab aside with her foot. "I'm not hungry, and I was just looking at it."

"These crabs are delicious and fresh since this place is unpolluted."

He'd just picked one up when Noelle walked up and snatched it over. "They're too cute to eat!"

Then, she placed it on the sand and murmured, "Run along now and don't come back."

Watching the crab slowly crawl back into the sea, she finally felt relieved. Carl stepped closer. "I was only getting it for you because I thought you'd like it."

"You'll give me whatever you want, then? What about my freedom? Could you give me that?"

As she looked at Carl in front of her, she never would have realized that he was, surprisingly, the most deceptive. She hadn't seen it coming at all.

He calmly said, "I promised you a month, and there are just a few days left now. I'll send you back when the time comes."

Noelle didn't respond because she didn't believe a word of it. They were perfectly aware that if she returned, she'd cut ties with the Liddells for good and make sure they paid for this. So, she had to leave and couldn't stay here any longer.

As she turned around, Carl said, "Let's go beachcombing tomorrow. I checked and noticed that the tide at 3:00 am will be perfect."

"Sounds great." She'd been planning to beachcomb tomorrow, too, but she was surprised when Carl suggested it first. It sounded too good to be true, and there had to be a catch.

She shot him a glare and snapped, "I don't want you coming along."

When Carl said nothing, she returned to her room, feeling annoyed. There was no doubt Carl would come along anyway.

As she glanced at the conch, she asked her nanny, "Is beachcombing fun around here?"
