No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1452

"I knew you'd definitely feel sore all over today, so I had someone bring in some masseuses from the port to help you relax. You can try out the local massage, too."

After Carl spoke, two young ladies with sun-kissed skin came in carrying toolboxes. Noelle didn't bother turning down the offer since she sure felt sore all over. Lying in bed, she got ready to enjoy the massage and some beauty care.

From the surveillance feed, Cedric saw what Noelle was doing, and his mood instantly improved. It seemed like her life on the island wasn't all miserable.

But as he recalled the way Carl had spoken to her, he still felt uncomfortable. Carl had always wanted to dictate Noelle's life and have complete control over her.

As he stared at Noelle through the screen, Cedric could rest assured, knowing that at least she looked fine for now. He knew that he'd bravely hold on while waiting for him to get her.

…

When Noelle woke up the next day, her whole body ached, and she felt sore just like Carl had said.

Stretching her arms, she walked over to the conch on the table and murmured, "Looks like there's no way I can go beachcombing now; I'm too sore."

Still, she had no idea if Cedric could pick up that message. At breakfast, Frank came to her and asked, "When do you want to go beachcombing?"

"I'll rest for a day since I'm feeling a little exhausted."

"Sure. Diving does wear you out if you don't have high stamina."'

She said nothing in reply.

That evening, she went out to the beach to enjoy the sea breeze and saw some crabs scuttling along the sand. For the first time, she felt genuinely at ease.

Just then, Frank, Carl, and Wyatt came over, too. She rolled her eyes and snapped, "The beach is huge, so can't you guys go somewhere else? I just want some time alone."

The three exchanged a look before Frank said, "Let's go over there then. We're getting a drink, and the smell's not gonna be pleasant."
