Noelle began wondering if Cedric could have sent the hidden camera. Looking at the conch, she murmured, "Can you see me?"
As she spoke, her eyes stung with tears, and she took a deep breath. "I want to go home. I miss everyone so much."
She'd had enough of being alone now.
At that moment, Cedric was watching her on the screen, wishing he could tear through and bring her back right then and there. Sure enough, she was very brilliant to have thought of getting the disguised camera conch back with her.
Soon, Noelle heard a noise outside and quickly hid the conch. Even if she had no idea if the disguised camera was Cedric's doing, she didn't want Carl to find out just yet.
Frank stepped in and said, "Come in. They just caught a fresh fish and some crabs."
When Noelle's eyes landed on the lavish spread of seafood on the table, her appetite was immediately whetted. Without hesitation, she settled down at the table and decided to enjoy eating her fill.
After dinner, Frank suggested. "Come up to the deck and watch the sunset. The view's beautiful up here."
She stepped onto the deck and was utterly stunned by the breathtaking sunset. Her thoughts drifted off as she wondered if Cedric could see it, too. He was probably in the submarine now and wouldn't see the view over the sea.
After the sunset, Noelle returned to the island, where Carl was waiting for her on the beach.
He noticed the handful of conch she'd collected and commented. "That's a lot."
She replied with a soft hum and walked past him without bothering to hand them over.
Irritated by the sting of her cold shoulder, he turned to Frank and asked, "So, how was it?"
"She was really happy, spent ages watching the coral, and even started to get over her fear of the water."
"I can tell. She's obviously in better spirits now."
Frank looked equally relieved as he said, "Yeah. Once she's rested, we'll take her out again and maybe go beachcombing next time."
Carl pressed his lips into a thin line before saying, "If she goes beachcombing, I'm coming, too."
