Anastasia calmly said, "I'm old now, so I don't really manage family matters anymore." The implication was that she wasn't getting involved.

The middle-aged woman shot up from the couch. "Fine then, I'll leave! Can't believe you made all this fuss just to kick out a family member over some ignorant young lady!"

Noelle looked at her and flatly said, "You're the one who's ignorant. Just because refined tea leaves are rare doesn't mean I can't get my hands on them, and just because you can't get it doesn't mean Cedric can't."

Colors drained from the woman's face. That was when she finally understood why Cedric had been so furious; it turned out he was the one who'd bought the tea leaves, so there was no way it could be fake.

Still, she refused to give in and snapped, "Don't think your good days will last, you lowly young lady."

Cedric stood protectively at Noelle's side and said, "She's going to be my wife. Watch your mouth."

Then, he turned to Lincoln and instructed, "She's never allowed into the Greene residence from now on."

Seething, the woman turned to Anastasia as if trying to get her to say something in her favor. But the latter sipped her tea with her head down and stayed completely silent.

With that, the woman was unceremoniously kicked out. Noelle hadn't expected Cedric to be so unflinching in his stance, either. She whispered, "It's New Year's… Was that a little too harsh?"

Anastasia chuckled. "It's fine. I just can't say anything outright since we've got a lot of relatives, but Ced's different. I can always say he's just a kid who doesn't know better."

Cedric's tone was cold as he chimed in, "I'd never show respect to people like her."

Anastasia nodded. "I understand, but we can't be too ruthless either. You play the bad cop, and I'll play the good one." Then, she turned to Noelle with a smile. "Come here. I haven't given you your gift yet."

"Grandma, wishing you good health and happiness in the new year ahead!"

"Thank you. Now, here's your gift. I hope this year brings you success in both love and career." Noelle's heart was warmed as she wrapped her arms around the huge gift.
