"If it's not serious enough to require hospitalization, then it can't be that bad. It's just showing up at the hospital for a quick visit, so how much trouble could that be? The bottom line is, he just doesn't care enough."
Noelle's words carried a sharp edge.
Ivy's carefully maintained expression finally cracked slightly. "Ms. Liddell, I hope you can try to understand a mother's position. As for Mia, I can visit her every day."
Noelle felt considerably better, seeing that Ivy had finally dropped her act. It seemed that her weak spot was Eason, after all.
She looked at Ivy and said, "Ms. Sterling, you must be pretty happy about Mia's accident."
"Ms. Liddell, what are you talking about? How could I possibly be happy?" Ivy protested.
"If something happened to Mia, then Eason would be the rightful heir. Wouldn't that make you happy?" Noelle pressed.
Ivy's expression instantly changed. "Ms. Liddell, you can't just say things like that. Mia's accident was clearly caused by the falling rocks on the mountain."
"How do you know it was the falling rocks on the mountain? That information wasn't released to the public, so how did you find out?" Noelle continued her relentless questioning.
Ivy froze completely. "I-I heard the nurses talking about it that day. Besides, the car accident isn't exactly a secret. The media already reported that it was caused by falling rocks on the mountain."
Noelle suddenly burst into laughter. "Oh, I see. But Ms. Sterling, you seem a bit guilty about something. People who do shady things can never fully cover their tracks."
Ivy's patience snapped. "Ms. Liddell, I know you don't like me. That's fine, I'll just leave. But there's no need to slander me with this kind of talk."
Fuming, she turned her wheelchair and stormed off. However, the second the elevator doors closed behind her, her face twisted into something cold and cruel.
Had Noelle actually caught on to something? Those idiots couldn't even handle such a simple task properly.
