Noelle's mood soured the moment she spotted Ivy approaching. Her tone turned cold as she spoke, "Ms. Sterling, please step aside."
Ivy's expression carried a hint of embarrassment as she took a step back. "I didn't mean anything by it. I just heard Dr. Liddell saved Mia, and I thought he was amazing. So, I came to thank him personally."
As she spoke, her eyes remained fixed on Carl.
Carl's voice was equally frigid. "I only did it for my sister."
"I understand that completely, but I still wanted to thank you," Ivy replied.
"It's not necessary." Carl's attitude toward Ivy remained utterly cold. Then, he walked straight into the ICU without another word.
Ivy watched his retreating figure, a flash of coldness appearing in her eyes. Her plan had been going so well until it was suddenly disrupted, and she could not help but wonder who Carl was.
Alfred looked at Noelle with concern. "Nelly, come with me for a moment. There's something I need to tell you."
Noelle followed Alfred to a corner, making sure Ivy couldn't overhear their conversation. It was only then that she asked, "What do you want to tell me?"
Alfred lowered his voice, saying, "Eugene's people discovered last night that the car accident was intentional."
Noelle's eyes instantly widened in shock. "Intentional? Did they find out who did it?"
"There are no leads yet, but Ced has already sent people to investigate in private. It's suspicious that all these things are happening suddenly," Alfred replied.
Noelle frowned deeply, whispering, "I have this terrible feeling, but I can't put my finger on it." She felt like some conspiracy was gradually closing in on them, but they had no idea what was behind it.
Alfred mumbled, "How did Mia suddenly get dragged into this mess?"
