Cedric frowned and said, "Let's continue our investigation in secret so that we don't alert them of anything. I'll have my men stand guard around the hospital so that no outsiders can get anywhere near Mia."

Eugene said nothing and just silently stared at the direction of the ICU.

Alfred looked at Cedric and asked, "Where's Noelle?"

"She went back home with Carl."

Alfred clicked his tongue and continued, "The Liddells really haven't changed a bit. I can't believe they're using this opportunity just to get Noelle to go home again."

Cedric frowned and said, "She's doing this all for Mia."

"I know. That's why I'm angry on her behalf."

Meanwhile, Noelle had returned to the Liddell residence.

Everyone was shocked when they saw Carl bringing her back home.

Frank's eyes lit up with surprise. "What brings the two of you back here out of nowhere? Did something happen?"

Noelle was visibly exhausted. "I'm going back to my room to rest."

Frank did not stop her from leaving. After watching her go upstairs, he turned to Carl and asked, "What happened?"

Carl sat down on the couch and replied with an indifferent expression, "It's nothing much. I'm just bringing her back home to rest. Her friend got into a pretty serious car accident, so she asked me for help. I have no choice but to come back."

Frank asked cautiously, "Is this about Mia Cantrell? I saw the news as well. I heard that she went out with her bodyguard, and the bodyguard turned on her for money."

Carl snorted and replied, "I don't know anything either, but it probably has nothing to do with the bodyguard."

Frank frowned. "Forget about that for now. Did you force Noelle to come back home because she called you for help? You didn't have to do that. The fact that she called you shows that she still cares about you as her brother."

Carl did not see anything wrong about what he had done. "I know, but I also want her to learn to be a little more obedient. I can't just not get to see her after I come all the way back, can I?"
