HIS REGRET (Ex-Husband wants Me Back) novel Chapter 738

Chapter 738

A massive black gate accented with deep red slowly opened as their convoy approached.

Naomi frowned in confusion. “Are we really just going out for a meal?”

“You ask too many questions today,” Cale answered casually.

“At the very least, I deserve to know where I’m being taken, Mr. Miller,” Naomi muttered under her breath before quickly turning toward Lydia. “Have you ever been here before, Mrs. Lydia?”

Lydia quietly observed the surroundings. Awe flickered across her face the moment they entered the area, impossible to completely hide. “Um… no, I haven’t.” Then she looked at Cale. “Where exactly are we going?”

“You’ll find out soon enough.”

Several minutes later, the car came to a stop in front of a massive traditional-style mansion.

The building looked completely different from Cale’s modern residence. Strong black wooden pillars lined the wide veranda, while classic lanterns hung from the sides of the structure, carved with intricate dragon patterns that looked both majestic and intimidating.

The moment they stepped out of the car, several men dressed in formal attire immediately lowered their heads deeply.

“Welcome, Master Kai. Welcome, Mrs. Lydia.”

Naomi turned sharply toward Cale.

Master Kai.

The way they said it felt different from ordinary respect. None of them even dared look directly at either Cale or Lydia.

Cale walked ahead first without much reaction, as though he was completely accustomed to being treated that

way.

But Naomi could feel her heartbeat gradually speeding up. And perhaps Lydia felt the same while walking beside her. The only difference was that Lydia, being far more mature, handled the situation with much calmer

composure.

I need to stay calm, Naomi told herself silently. Because for the first time in her life, she was seeing with her own eyes the world people had only ever whispered about to her.

They entered the main building with several guards following behind them.

The interior of the house felt old yet magnificent. The faint scent of sandalwood lingered in the air. The walls were decorated with calligraphy paintings and carefully preserved black-and-white photographs that looked decades

old.

Naomi unconsciously slowed her steps when her eyes landed on one particularly large photograph hanging on the

wall.

An elderly man sat in the center while several people stood behind him.

And one of them was… Cale Miller.

A younger version of him, but not much had changed. The face was the same. The cold eyes were exactly the same.

Without realizing it, Naomi stopped walking altogether. “That…” she murmured softly.

“Wow, this is my first time seeing my husband in a photo like this,” Lydia said openly, unable to hide her surprise. “Can I have a copy of it, Cale?” she asked without hesitation.

“I don’t know. I’ll ask the house manager later.” Cale looked at Lydia strangely. “But why would you want a copy when the original is standing right in front of you?”

Good grief.

Were these two seriously not embarrassed at all about openly flirting in public like this?

Naomi desperately wanted to complain, but she stopped herself over and over again.

In the end, she simply kept staring at the photograph for a long moment.

A strange feeling slowly filled her chest.

This was all real.

Her family.

The past that had always felt vague and distant.

And Cale truly had already existed within her family’s circle long before she was even born.

“Master Kai.”

The hoarse voice of an elderly woman suddenly echoed from the front of the room.
