Falcon gave the faintest nod.

Then, without warning, he crushed his cigar into the crystal ashtray with more force than necessary. The glowing ember shattered against the edge, the sharp sound cutting through the stillness.

He stood.

There was no rush in his movement. Every motion was measured, controlled, carrying the quiet authority that defined him. Yet each step he took seemed to press down on the air itself.

The man in front of him held his breath without realizing it.

Falcon stopped at the edge of the desk, then dropped the tablet onto its surface with a hard thud. It didn’t break, but the impact was enough to make the man flinch.

“Skilled?” Falcon repeated softly.

No one dared to answer.

He looked at the man, and for the first time, his anger showed. Not in raised voices or explosive rage, but in the coldness of his gaze, something far more painful than any outburst.

“You failed,” he continued, his tone still calm. “And now you’re looking for excuses, as if I would accept them?”

The man dropped to his knees without being told. “Sir, we’ll fix this-”

“How?” Falcon cut him off. His voice didn’t rise, yet it silenced everything. “You lost the car completely, didn’t you?”

The room fell silent again. The man in front of him didn’t dare to rise. He remained bowed, weighed down by guilt and fear. Falcon could very well kill him for this failure.

Falcon turned his head slowly, as if he had lost interest in looking at him any longer. He drew in a deep breath, then released it just as slowly, smoothing his composure back into place. His gaze returned to the window, where the city lights reflected faintly in his eyes, now completely calm.

When he spoke again, his voice was steady, as though the anger from moments ago had never existed.

“Find the exact location of Cale Miller’s residence in this city.”

“We… we’ll do our best, sir,” the man replied, his voice trembling.

“You can’t even find that?” Falcon finally gave him his full attention, his gaze laced with clear disdain. At first, he had no intention of resorting to violence to punish the man tasked with capturing Naomi.

But failure had found its way back to him again, and this time, the irritation pressed harder, rising before he could fully restrain

“We’ve already tried, sir,” the man answered quickly. “The data we have is incomplete. It’s as if… it’s been deliberately concealed.”

“Deliberately concealed?” Falcon repeated, a slight crease forming between his brows. “Is the man we’re after, Cale Miller, so powerful in some field that even his residence isn’t accessible to just anyone?”

“N-no, sir,” the man stammered. “It’s just that… we do have our limitations.”

Falcon clicked his tongue in irritation. “Expand the search,” he said shortly. “Use other channels. I want that address.”

“Yes, sir.”

The man moved to leave, but stopped when Falcon spoke again.

“And one more thing.”

He turned back immediately. “Sir?”

Falcon remained facing the window, his voice calm. “Contact that person.”

The man understood at once who he meant. “But you know he doesn’t accept communication through intermediaries.”

Falcon gave a small nod. “I know.”
