Chapter 705

From the moment Cale arrived at the office, he had been buried under a flood of reports, along with a series of meetings to discuss new partnerships. The Hong Kong branch of TnC had too many things that needed fixing.

Even lunch had been handled inside the meeting room. Nearly the entire board of directors and staff ate together there, all of them focused on one thing-clearing the growing pile of reports and delivering their best to support Cale Miller’s direction.

The meeting room on the top floor still carried the mingled scent of coffee and freshly signed documents when Cale closed the last folder in front of him. Beyond the glass walls, the lights of Hong Kong began flickering on one by one, casting a cold yet mesmerizing glow that reflected across the room. He rose from his seat with composed ease, adjusting the cuff of his shirt as several clients, having just concluded their discussions, stood to take their leave.

“This partnership will go well as long as everything stays on track,” one of them said.

Cale gave a slight nod. “Make sure nothing strays from the agreement. I don’t appreciate unexpected changes.”

His voice was calm, even flat, yet it carried enough weight to make it clear it wasn’t just a casual remark.

A few minutes later, the room fell quiet again. Liu was already standing near the desk, tablet in hand, ready to move on to the next matter. But before he could say a word, the office door opened without a knock.

Brandon stepped in with an easy stride, his expression as composed as ever. That faint smile rested on his lips, giving him a friendly air, yet there was always something beneath it, something that could never quite be taken lightly.

“You haven’t changed,” he said, glancing around the room. “Still fond of high places with expensive views.”

Cale shot him a brief look. “And you still show up unannounced.” Even so, there was a hint of warmth in the way he received him. “I thought we’d meet tomorrow. You know today’s been packed with management discussions.”

Brandon smiled slightly and took a seat without waiting to be invited. “It’s fine. This visit isn’t entirely about business anyway.”

Liu remained where he stood, observing in silence with professional composure, though there was a trace of vigilance in his

gaze.

“But I’d rather think you’re here to continue what we started in Berlin,” Cale said at last, settling back into his chair.

“Partly.” Brandon leaned back comfortably. “The partnership still interests me, especially after seeing how you’re running things here.”

Cale didn’t respond right away. He simply watched him, waiting.

Brandon let out a quiet laugh. “You really don’t change. Always straight to the point.” He then asked for a copy of the agreement he wanted to discuss further with Cale Miller. It wasn’t just about a short-term deal. Brandon was aiming for something ongoing, a continued collaboration between his company and TnC Group.

Especially under Cale Miller’s leadership.

“My time is limited,” Cale replied curtly.

Their conversation moved forward in a controlled tone, touching on figures, distribution regions, and expansion strategies that had already begun to take shape since their meeting in Berlin. Brandon occasionally made sharp remarks, as if testing the boundaries, while Cale responded with the same cool composure.

The atmosphere shifted when Liu’s phone rang. The sound was brief, but enough to draw attention. After a quick glance at Cale for permission, Liu checked the screen and answered. “Yes.”

His voice remained low, but his expression changed in an instant. His gaze sharpened, his body tensing ever so slightly.

“Daniel?” he said quietly.
