Riana let out a long breath. The tension that had been sitting on her shoulders for days finally eased, if only slightly.

Before she could close the screen, another notification appeared.

Before following Riana, Althea asked one of the household staff to keep an eye on the children. Then she walked beside Riana into the small study next to the family room. The door was closed softly behind them.

“Sit down,” Riana said, gesturing toward the chair.

“But, Mom…” Althea looked at her, confused. “What is it?”

A few seconds passed as Althea read the screen in silence. Her expression didn’t change dramatically, but the look in her eyes slowly hardened.

“So… that’s why we weren’t told about the test results?”

“I think this is all part of a plan to trap everyone involved,” Riana replied quietly.

“And it all starts today,” Althea said under her breath.

Riana nodded.

Althea drew in a slow breath. “What do you think we should do about the children?”

“I don’t know.” Riana exhaled deeply, her gaze troubled, uncertain. “For now… I think it’s better to keep things the way they are.”

Althea agreed without hesitation. “Grace and Josh don’t need to see any of this. Especially not right now.” She paused, then added softly, “And that girl isn’t ready to face public reaction yet.”

Riana looked at her. “That’s exactly why I called you. Today, as much as possible, we keep the atmosphere at home normal.”

Althea nodded. “I’ve asked Eli to practice more. Tomorrow we’re visiting her new school. I want her focused on her future-not on this.”

A faint smile touched Riana’s lips. “You’re doing the right thing.”

They fell silent for a few seconds. From outside the room, Grace’s cheerful voice rang out, “Mom! I got a perfect score!”

Althea smiled when she heard it. “I guess we shouldn’t stay in here too long, Mom.”

Riana gave a small laugh and turned off her phone screen.

“The storm outside is starting to settle,” she said softly. “Now we only have one task.”

“What is it?” Althea asked.

“To keep this house peaceful.”

Althea nodded in agreement. But before they stepped out of the study, she hesitated.

“But, Mom… what should we do about Eli?”

Riana was silent for a long moment before answering. Her eyes remained fixed on Althea’s face, as if she was weighing something deeper than the question itself.
