Chapter 510

“I’m here!” Felicia announced brightly the moment she stepped into the dining room.

Ever since she landed at SCT International Airport, Felicia had wanted to get to the Miller residence as quickly as possible. She told the driver who picked her up to head straight there-after making a quick stop to buy several boxes of pizza. Josh loved pizza. She missed her two nieces and nephews terribly, as well as the family she held dearly.

That evening’s dinner felt livelier than usual, largely because of Felicia’s arrival.

She came just as the last dishes were being prepared. The moment she entered the main dining room, her smile blossomed. Riana, who had risen first, greeted her with a warm embrace.

“Welcome, Felicia,” Riana said gently. “You arrived just in time.”

Felicia laughed softly. “I was almost afraid I’d be late,” she said as she hugged Riana back, savoring the familiar warmth of a mother’s embrace. “I missed you, Mrs. Miller.”

“How have you been?” Riana asked, studying her closely.

Felicia chuckled. “As you can see, I’m doing well. Just a little dizzy-probably still adjusting after the trip. SunCity traffic is worse than ever. But I wouldn’t miss dinner with the family for anything.”

“I thought there was some commotion in the living room,” Nathan said lightly. “Turns out it’s just Felicia Callister paying us a visit.”

Felicia burst out laughing. “Oh my goodness. Only you, Mr. Miller, insist on saying my full name.”

Nathan shook her hand warmly. “We’re glad you’re here.”

“I’m always happy to come to this house,” Felicia replied sincerely. “You always welcome me so warmly.”

Hurried footsteps echoed from the side corridor. Josh appeared first, his face openly shocked when he saw who was standing there.

“Aunt Feli?” he exclaimed in disbelief. Without waiting for an answer, he rushed over and wrapped her in a tight hug. “When did you get here? Why didn’t you tell me?”

Felicia laughed as she hugged him back. “I just arrived. And you’re still the same-always dramatic.”

“I’m surprised, that’s all,” Josh protested, though his grin was wide. “The last time you replied to my message, you were stuck at home in a snowstorm.”

Felicia’s laughter rang out, light and bright.

Grace, who had entered a few steps behind Josh, stopped short as well. Then she bounced with excitement. Her eyes widened, her face lighting up instantly. “Aunt Feli!”

She ran over and hugged Felicia from the other side, pressing her whole body against her. “I missed you.”

Felicia bent down and kissed Grace’s forehead tenderly. “I missed you so much too. How have you been, sweetheart?”

“Good,” Grace replied cheerfully, her arms still refusing to let go.

Althea followed a few steps behind them. When she took in the scene, she smiled-a smile born of relief and warmth. She stepped closer and hugged Felicia once Josh and Grace gave her a little space.

“Welcome,” Althea said softly. “I’m so glad you finally in here.”

“I do too,” Felicia replied gently. “I just wanted to make sure you’re all right.”

Not long after, Chris and Cale entered together from the staircase, followed by Lydia. The three of them paused briefly, then greeted her almost at the same time.

“Felicia,” Chris said with a small smile.

“Welcome,” Cale added calmly.

“Well, this dining table just keeps getting more crowded,” Lydia said with a smile. “So you did come tonight.”

Felicia looked from one to the other and laughed softly. “Looks like I arrived at just the right time.”

Althea glanced at Josh and Grace, who were still standing close to Felicia. For a moment, everything felt whole- warm, familiar, and free of tension. As if the house had found its rhythm again, even if only briefly.

Felicia took her seat after being invited, and everyone else settled into their places. As the servers poured the opening soup, Felicia started the conversation. “Oh, I almost forgot-Kalina is on her way to SunCity. If there are no delays, she’ll arrive tomorrow morning.”

Riana nodded. “That’s good. It’s been a long time since I last saw her.”

Nathan smiled faintly. “This house is going to be even livelier.”

Althea glanced at Josh and Grace, whose faces lit up instantly. “Aunt Kalina is coming too!” Grace even clapped her hands in excitement.

“Yes. I’m going to ask her to accompany my training,” Josh said, looking at his mother. “That’s okay, right, Mom?”

“I want Aunt Kalina to come with me too, Mom,” Grace added eagerly.

“And you don’t want me to go with you?” It wasn’t Althea who spoke, but Felicia. She deliberately put on a wounded, pitiful expression.

“Me, me!” Grace cut in quickly. “Come with me to buy colored pencils, Aunt Felicia.”

Felicia’s smile spread wide again. “Deal!”

A few seconds later, footsteps echoed from the corridor.

Selena appeared first, wearing a soft-colored dress and immaculate makeup. Eli followed a step behind, her movements slow, her face much calmer than it had been that morning-though her eyes still held traces of guilt and awkwardness.

She didn’t even dare look around to see who was seated at the dinner table. Unlike her mother, who continued forward as if everything she was doing was perfectly appropriate.
