Chris chuckled softly. "Then I'll keep making you laugh."

"We've greeted almost all the guests. Turns out Cale wasn't joking when he warned me about how many members of the Devereux family there would be," Chris complained, but when he saw how many guests had come, he felt very happy.

"I only found out myself." Naomi chose to sit on one of the chairs nearby. "The emcee said the main event is in half an hour, and I have to change my dress."

Chris looked at Naomi. "Change your dress? Why?"

"I don't know." Naomi shrugged. "Lydia told me about it. I only just found out there was an event like this. There wasn't one planned before."

"My God." Chris gently patted his forehead. "Why do pregnant women always come up with unexpected events?"

Naomi burst out laughing.

“You should come with me for a moment.” Chris held out his hand to Naomi.

“What is it?”

“Just for a moment.” Chris gave a faint grin. “Aren’t you curious about the gift I want to give you?”

“Of course!” Naomi immediately stood and took Chris’s offered hand. “Let’s go.”
