Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 844

Will hurried over, tablet in hand, lowering his voice as he spoke.

“James, we’ve found something.”

“Dean started selling off everything he owned here two weeks ago. He’s liquidated all his assets and shares.”

“All the money was transferred through banks in more than a dozen countries. In the end, it all landed in an anonymous, encrypted account.”

Will’s face was tight with worry. “This account is locked down tighter than anything I’ve ever seen. No one can trace where the money went unless Dean himself gives it up.”

“He planned this. He’s leaving, and he doesn’t care about burning every bridge behind him.”

James’s eyes were bloodshot, his knuckles turning white as he clenched his fists. The words came out rough and strained.

“Keep looking.”

“Get every record you can find. Travel, calls, everything. I don’t care what it takes, just find him.”

A technician suddenly jumped up, voice shaking with excitement.

“Sir! I found something!”

“Half an hour after Ms. Lincoln went missing, three private jets took off at the same time from the international airport on the outskirts.”

“They were headed to Dubai, Switzerland, and somewhere in Southeast Asia.”

Everyone’s attention locked on the screen. It was obvious Dean was trying to throw them off. Three planes, three destinations, all just to confuse the trail.

James didn’t even blink.

“Contact our people in all three places. Let Interpol know. Stop those planes.”

The orders went out immediately, and the command center fell into a tense, endless wait.

By noon the next day, the reports came in. All three jets had been stopped, but every single one was empty.

Any hope they’d had vanished in a heartbeat.

The room went silent.

Then another technician, eyes fixed on his monitor, let out a surprised gasp.

“James, look at this.”

He pointed at a strange flight path on his screen.

“There was another plane, taking off at the same time from the Nelson family’s private airstrip.”

“It was Mr. Nelson’s jet.”

James’s head snapped up, eyes glued to the screen.

They could hardly believe how far Dean had gone, how detailed and ruthless his plan was, all to take a woman who’d just given birth.

The commander walked over, putting a heavy hand on James’s shoulder, his face full of regret.

“James, our people found that airspace is in international waters, with multiple countries disputing it. It’s a mess.”

“If we push any further, we’ll be crossing lines. It could turn into a serious diplomatic problem.”

“Unless your wife can somehow send a signal from wherever she is, there’s nothing more we can do.”

The light in James’s eyes faded even more.

He stood there for so long that everyone thought he might lose it.

But he just closed his eyes, and when he opened them, his gaze was empty, lost.

“Thank you.”

His voice was rough as he nodded to the commander.

“Please keep watching for anything suspicious.”

Then he turned and walked out, leaving the room in silence.
