Mandy stumbled, nearly hitting the floor, her heart skipping a beat at the force of Will’s presence.
She caught her balance, then jabbed a finger at Abriella, her voice sharp and trembling.
“What did you say to Isabel? She blocked me, won’t even see me, and now the Sullivan family lost all our deals with her. What did you do?”
“You’re such a sneaky, shameless brat. You only ever mess with me behind my back. Why don’t you try it in front of Mom and Dad for once?”
Abriella folded her arms, arching a brow with a cool smirk.
“So now that Isabel’s ignoring you, you come here to throw a fit at me?”
“If you want to talk about being shameless, I could learn a thing or two from you.”
She didn’t waste another breath on Mandy. Turning away, she headed straight for the hospital room.
The bodyguards stepped up, blocking Mandy’s path.
Mandy stomped in frustration, her voice rising.
“Abriella, you’re bad luck. You can’t stand to see anyone else happy just because your life sucks.”
“You think you’re someone special? You’re nothing but a pawn Mom and Dad raised to throw away.”
“Just wait. I’ll tell them everything, and they won’t let you off easy.”
Abriella stopped in her tracks.
She turned, her voice cold as she spoke to the bodyguards. “Hold her.”
They moved in right away, grabbing Mandy by the arms.
Abriella walked up to her, her gaze icy. “Slap her. I want her face swollen.”
The guards didn’t hesitate. Sharp slaps rang out, one after another, leaving Mandy dazed and gasping.
Abriella never flinched, her warning clear in her eyes.
“If you show up screaming in front of me again, next time I’ll have you stripped and dumped in the busiest part of downtown.”
Mandy’s bravado cracked. Crying, she still tried to sound tough. “You wouldn’t dare. Mom and Dad will take care of you.”
“Is that so?”
Abriella let out a soft laugh, then pulled out the Sullivan family registration book from Will’s bag, the one that had just been replaced.
She slapped it hard against Mandy’s swollen face.
“Sorry, but as of today, I’m not a Sullivan anymore.”
“They can’t control me now.”
