James said nothing, his eyes remaining as cold and dangerous as ever. Even though everyone who knew the truth back then was dead, he had faintly sensed something was wrong from his grandmother's unusual behavior over the years. Furthermore, Emmy had indeed told him the truth later on. That had been back when he first found her, while she was recovering on Star Jewel Island. Even while suffering from severe depression, she had relayed the filthy, ugly history she had heard from Dean and Brian.
She told him that Tyler Nelson had leaked Jamie's whereabouts to the drug cartel. She told him that when the cartel dragged Jamie away, Tyler had stood there and coldly watched it happen. It was precisely because he knew this truth that his first move upon returning to the country was to kick Tyler out of Nelson Corporation's center of power. He absolutely refused to let anyone who had harmed his brother lay a single finger on what rightfully belonged to him.
Perhaps realizing this as well, Brian suddenly let out a cold, mocking laugh. "Your grandmother totally ruined us just to protect your pathetic brotherhood!" He ground his teeth, his clouded eyes filled with venom and ridicule. "If she were still alive to see you and Tyler tearing each other to pieces, I wonder if she would regret the choice she made!"
James maintained his posture against the sofa, not even a flicker of emotion crossing his eyes. "Tell me exactly what happened back then," he demanded coldly. His voice was incredibly soft, yet it pressed against Brian's throat like a blade of ice.
Brian shuddered uncontrollably. At this point, he had nothing left to hide. His only hope was to use this card to save his own life and the lives of his wife and son abroad. He swallowed hard, his voice trembling but speaking rapidly.
