Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 1648

James merely looked down at him from his seated position. In his deep, narrow eyes, there was not a single trace of pity, only a suffocating, absolute indifference. The iron-blooded, oppressive aura of an elite soldier rolled off him without restraint. The air in the room felt entirely drained away, crushing the breath out of anyone caught in it.

"You no longer have the right to negotiate with me." His voice was incredibly deep and entirely devoid of emotion, yet it carried an absolute, dictatorial authority.

Brian violently shuddered. He clutched the photos in his hands so tightly that his knuckles turned stark white. He knew this nephew's methods far too well. On a battlefield, this was the kind of ruthless killer who would snap an enemy's neck without even blinking.

"As long as you don't touch them..." Brian seemed to age ten years in a split second, his shoulders slumping in total defeat. "I will tell you... the truth about what happened back then."

This was the real reason he had fought so desperately to see James one last time. It was the final, and only, trump card left in his hand. He was absolutely certain that since James was doing all of this to avenge Jamie, offering the truth would be enough to buy a way out for himself and his family. Clinging to this desperate gamble, he slowly raised his head to meet James's freezing, pitch-black eyes. "I didn't kill your brother."

James suddenly let out a low, chilling laugh. "To save your own skin, there really is no lie you won't tell." He looked at the older man with overwhelming disdain. "Did you really think I'd believe you?"
