James's pupils constricted. He looked back to see Emmy slumped limply in her seat, her cheeks flushed bright red from the fever. Without a moment's hesitation, he adjusted their flight path and immediately contacted the ground tower.

Ten minutes later, the helicopter touched down on the rooftop helipad of Mercy Hospital. Dr. Lorelei Hall was already waiting with her medical team. They rushed forward and took Emmy inside. After rushing her into a private room and conducting an emergency examination, Lorelei took off her stethoscope. She looked at the incredibly tense man standing nearby and let out a sigh of relief. "Do not panic. Her life is not in danger. It is a severe fever brought on by extreme grief, emotional exhaustion, and a bit of a chill. She quickly put down the half-eaten apple and poured a glass of warm water. She thoughtfully dropped a straw into it and guided it to Emmy's lips. "Do you want some water? Or are you hungry? Tell me what you want, and I will go buy it for you!"

Emmy was indeed desperately thirsty. She took several large sips through the straw. As the warm liquid flowed down her parched throat, the burning agony finally subsided a little. She pointed to her neck, her voice still hoarse. "My throat hurts."
