Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 1100

Half an hour later, Emmy stepped out of the shower, feeling fresh in clean cotton pajamas. The steam had chased away most of her lingering dizziness, and she finally looked clear-eyed again.

She walked over and hugged Teresa from behind, resting her chin on her mom’s shoulder as Teresa folded laundry.

“Mom,” she murmured.

Teresa paused and turned, her eyes soft. “What is it? Are you still not feeling well?”

Emmy shook her head, a big smile spreading across her face. “I saw the news. Congratulations, Ms. Drennon. You’re absolutely glowing right now.”

Teresa kept folding, but a fond smile tugged at her lips. “That’s nothing. I still have to work much harder if I want to keep up with you.”

Emmy snuggled closer, her voice steady and proud. “You’ve always been the best, Mom. The best in the whole world.”

That long-missed warmth filled the tiny dorm room. Even Penny, seeing the moment, quietly slipped out so they could have their time alone.

After a while, Emmy and Teresa sat together on the couch, just chatting about life, about research, about all the little things that made up their days.

Eventually, Emmy hesitated, then finally asked the question she’d been holding inside for so long.

“Mom, there’s something I’ve always wanted to ask…”

She trailed off, searching for the right words. “What really happened between you and Dad?”

It was the first time she’d asked since her memory loss, and Teresa was ready. She had moved on from that dark chapter. Now, even saying Cooper’s name didn’t bother her.

“I should have told you sooner,” Teresa said gently, taking Emmy’s hand in hers. She began to share the story, her voice calm and steady.

Emmy listened in stunned silence. The more she heard, the more shocked she was. She never imagined so much could happen in just one year, things more dramatic than any TV show. Her father, who always seemed so gentle, turned out to be nothing like she thought.

But when she remembered the soft smile her mom wore whenever Andrew was around, Emmy felt both sad for the past and happy for what might come.

She squeezed her mother’s hand, looking her in the eye. “Mom, if you find someone better, I’ll be so happy for you. Your happiness is what matters most.”

Teresa hesitated, but decided not to share everything about Andrew just yet. Emmy was still adjusting to so much change, and there would be time for those conversations later.
