Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 834

Being stared at so intently by Jimmie, Juniper couldn’t help but feel a little guilty.

“We have plenty of time for family reunions later. Let’s get down to business,” Ebony Fox said, glancing briefly at Warren and Celine.

Seeing Celine’s delicate skin and the quality of her clothes and jewelry, it didn’t take a genius to know Warren doted on her. As for the dark room incident, since Juniper had already forgiven him, there was nothing more for them to say. After all, her little sister wasn't one to suffer injustice quietly.

“Have a seat.” Jimmie gestured for Warren to sit, and Harold and Melvin followed suit.

“Thank you.” Warren breathed a sigh of relief. As he sat, he gave Juniper a grateful nod.

Juniper smiled back. ‘Money talks.’

Watching from the sidelines, Shanley saw right through their little exchange. What a little money-grabber!

“The treatment starts tomorrow,” Juniper said, her knees pressed together. Her hands, resting by her sides, clenched into fists, her palms slick with cold sweat. “To ensure Celine’s safety, the entire procedure will be conducted at the research institute.”

“Is it very dangerous?” Jimmie asked, his face grave.

“A little,” Juniper admitted, then added in a lazy tone, “But I will minimize the risk and ensure everything goes perfectly.”

“I trust you.” Jimmie patted Juniper’s shoulder, comforting her gently. “Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. God will watch over Celine.”

Jimmie’s words made Juniper chuckle. “I think you’re the one under pressure,” she teased. “You’re starting to get all religious on me.”

Jimmie swallowed hard, falling silent. He was, in fact, extremely worried. He’d looked into hypnotherapy; if it failed, the patient’s mind could fracture, with no hope of recovery. For Juniper to propose this method, she must be under immense pressure herself.
