After breakfast.
Coralie walked Juniper and Shanley to the front entrance.
“Are you sure you can't stay a few more days?” Coralie held onto Juniper’s hands, her eyes red, reluctant to let go.
“I have a lot of things at school that need my attention.”
“Can't you just make Shanley deal with it?” Coralie pouted. “If it comes down to it, I’ll just buy the school! I’ll pay for it!”
Her little sister was exhausted from studying. What was the point of even going to school?!
“Please, it’s a public university!” Juniper couldn't stop her lips from curling into a grin. “We might be rich, but we aren't that wild!”
“Oh.”
Caelus was an independent state; they didn't have as much red tape.
“Once I get through this busy period, I’ll come back and spend more time with you.”
Juniper softly comforted her. “Or you could just hand the casino over to Odom and come back to Eclara City.”
Since Channing was so incredibly experienced at running things, if he wanted to play the role of an employee, they might as well let him act his heart out.
Standing nearby, Odom slightly lifted his eyes, a brief flash of panic crossing them.
If Coralie actually agreed to that, he would be stuck managing the casino.
He couldn't literally split himself in half and create yet another fake identity to follow her to the capital.
She was far too smart. She would figure it out eventually.
“Odom is getting up there in years. It’s not right to overwork him.”
Coralie shook her head, speaking softly. “I’ll head back once I’ve properly arranged everything here.”
“Fair enough.”
Juniper shot Odom a knowing look and teased, “My sister is such a considerate boss. Odom, you better take excellent care of her.”
“Rest assured, Ms. Payne, I will work diligently.”
Odom internally sighed in relief. If Ms. Payne didn't leave soon, he was genuinely going to have a heart attack.
Leaving Westshore, their car didn't head toward the airport. Instead, it drove straight toward Sunrise Casino.
Half an hour later.
The car doors opened. The couple stepped out, wearing hyper-realistic silicone masks and matching black trench coats.
