“Yes, my name is Odom!”
Channing quickly composed himself, trying his hardest to play the part of 'Odom' flawlessly.
“Oh~”
Juniper’s red lips curled into a faint, nonchalant smile. “Nice to meet you.”
She emphasized the words “Nice to meet you” a little too heavily.
“Nice to meet you, too!”
Odom couldn't muster a smile. He set down the fruit platter and silently backed out of the room.
The sisters chatted for a little while longer.
Then, Coralie offered to give Juniper a tour of her casino.
Worried that Juniper’s high-profile identity might cause a stir, Coralie suggested she wear a disguise. Coralie left the room first to make sure the coast was clear.
Once she was gone, Shanley moved back to Juniper’s side. He studied his wife’s face and asked in a low, husky voice, “What are you thinking about?”
“This Odom guy... don't you think he looks a little familiar?”
Juniper leaned back against the sofa, crossing her arms. She locked her bright eyes onto Shanley, her tone thick with meaning.
“Are you saying he looks like Channing?” Shanley sat down beside her, picking up a half-peeled apple and elegantly finishing the job with a paring knife.
“You noticed too?” Juniper let out a sharp laugh. The whole situation was just absurd.
The disguise was genuinely impressive. Most people wouldn't have spotted the difference.
Too bad for him.
Neither she nor Shanley were 'most people.'
To two master hackers and underworld bosses, pulling a stunt like this in front of them was like trying to teach a fish to swim. Child's play.
She had imagined countless ways Channing might try to return.
But she never expected this—
The guy had never even left.
“He’s really playing 4D chess,” Juniper sneered.
Shanley hummed in agreement. “What do you mean?”
“It’s next-level.”
Shanley almost slipped and sliced his own hand with the knife, a deep smile pooling in his eyes.
