If Lucien had seemed imposing before, he was now downright intimidating. His eyes were so cold that it seemed as if he could devour
someone whole.
Jason felt a chill run down his spine and gulped nervously.
In the Fenwick family, the only person he feared was Lucien. This was especially true when Lucien looked like this. Jason didn’t even dare move a muscle.
But now, he was caught between Lucien and Fred. As the host of the party, he had no choice but to step in.
“Oh, Fred. There you go again with your jokes.” After a moment of silence, Jason forced a laugh and rushed over. He snatched the wine- from Fred’s hand and shoved him aside. He then turned toward Lucien with an awkward grin plastered on his face.
“Uncle Lucien, we were just joking around.” Jason was visibly nervous, his smile so stiff that it was almost painful to look at.
Lucien didn’t even spare him a glance. He simply picked up the bottle of liquor on the table in a calm and unhurried pace.
His relaxed demeanor sent a chill down everyone’s spine. It appeared to be the calm before the storm.
“Let’s go.”
Calista knew what Lucien was about to do next. However, she was far too tired to care about what had just happened.
Lucien completely ignored her. He simply furrowed his brow as he read the label on the bottle. “54%. Not bad.”
