Chapter 28
Wendy interrupted Serena before she could finish her sentence.
“Calista is always like that. She turns the smallest issue into something bigger, and this time, she’s making a huge scene over the divorce again. She must be up to something. From now on, let Lucien and Calista handle their own business. You should stop worrying so much about it,” Wendy said with clear disgust in her voice.
Serena was furious, and she slammed her hand on the table. “Shut up!”
The sharp sound echoed through the living room.
Everyone fell silent instantly, and even Wendy held her tongue.
“None of you has ever taken her seriously. Not even you, Lucien. You’ve always been the most outstanding child in the Fenwick family, and you were the one I loved the most. But the way you’ve treated Calista really breaks my heart. If you still see me as your grandmother, call her right now.”
Lucien said, “She isn’t feeling well.”
“I want you to call her. Now.”
Lucien
Lucien then lifted his gaze and stared at Serena for a few seconds. Alexander also turned to look at him.
At Riverview Medical Center, Calista stood at the corner of the hallway, watching the man inside the room who had just regained consciousness.
A group of nurses gathered around Anthony to check on his condition.
Clarice stayed closed, tending to him. It looked like she had changed her mind about the divorce.
As long as Anthony was awake and safe, that was all that mattered to Calista.
