Only one bed?

That must not be the case, right? It couldn’t be. After talking with Noelle and Sol, I didn’t know if I could even be in the same room as him, much less the same bed,
When we arrived at the place, I smiled when I saw two identical houses, but one was surrounded with flowers. Which flowers were these? Calla Lilies? They were so cute! I momentarily forgot about the idea of sharing a single bed because of them.
However, the moment we went inside, I was reminded once again. The interior was quite pretty, and it appeared like it was built meticulously. However, the first thing I saw was the broken couch with a paper sign saying, “Don’t touch, broken.”
I pursed my lips and didn’t even want to think about how and why the couch was broken. Abel looked at the signage and clicked his tongue. “Rowan, that bastard.”
“Why?” I asked, turning to him.
He sighed and massaged the bridge of his nose. “You don’t want to talk about it. Just heed to their request and don’t touch the couch.”
I froze and pursed my lips. Alright, I guess it was because of that. I stepped away and beamed when I saw two doors to the right. They must have two rooms, right?
I opened the door of one of them, but it was locked.
“It’s their daughter’s room,” Abel said. “She’s sensitive to smells and sensations, so it’s locked most of the time.”
“Oh, sorry,” I muttered. With that, Abel opened the other door and pointed for me to enter.
I did and pursed my lips when I saw that it truly had one bed. It appeared like there wasn’t a futon here, either.
“Just take the bed,” he said in a gruff tone. “I’ll be taking the floor.”
My brows raised as he grabbed a pillow and placed it on the floor. I held onto his wrist. “It will be too hard on your back.”
He sighed. “It’s fine. You’re underestimating my capabilities. Just take the bed.”

“I feel bad.” I whispered, genuinely feeling like it. Now that I think about it, he has helped me
this entire time.
He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. “You worry too much about other people.”
“But you’re not just other people,” I muttered.
He was silent for a moment. I grabbed his pillow from the ground, dusted it off, and placed it back on the bed. He stared at it for a while before finally sitting on the mattress.
I sat on the edge of the bed, too, suddenly feeling awkward. He sighed and broke the silence after a while, “Have you thought about it?” he asked.
I puffed up my cheeks. I turned around for a fraction of a second and found that he was looking at me.
Right, I still had to answer.
“I know it’s too fast,” he started off. “However, I need an answer as soon as possible.”
I pursed my lips. “Can you tell me more about what’s at stake? I can’t make a decision without knowing more about the situation.”
He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. “My faction is at stake,” he said.
“I was given this title by a family that does not even want to acknowledge my existence.”
My breath got caught because I didn’t think he was going through something similar to my
situation.
“The title of being the Alpha is supposed to be with my cousin, but he was jailed because of a grave offense. I was the only one qualified in our family to take it.”
“Now that he’s out of jail, he’s trying to take it back. However, being the Alpha for five years, I realized that this family would be the one causing the downfall of the faction. I cannot let him take the title. The people are vulnerable. I’m afraid they would destroy everything that I had rebuilt.”
“Where am I in the picture?” I asked.
He let out a deep breath. “In ancient texts, the only way to settle matters on family lineages is by providing an heir to the title.”
“So, I need you to carry my child and give birth to an heir so I can finally claim the title as my own, as no one can already contest it thereafter.”

I was silent. I didn’t think I would have this kind of power in my hands.
