Chapter 176
I looked at the courtyard in the distance, Camilla’s words still echoing in my ears like an invisible thread pulling me, and I walked in as if possessed.
The courtyard was clean and tidy, with the fragrant scent of osmanthus flowers wafting from under the trees. That smell was too familiar, familiar enough to make me somewhat dazed. I knew I must have been here before, but it was probably too long ago–I had forgotten.
As a child, I had followed my father to visit the Vargan family, and I seemed to have really played under this osmanthus tree.
I stood under the tree for a long time, then looked up at the vermillion wooden house not far away, walking toward it step by step, reaching out to push open the door.
“Creak-”
The door slowly opened under my push. Inside it was dim and quiet, as if it sealed away some memory that was unwilling to be mentioned.
All the furniture and decorations in the house were covered with white cloth. I frowned, not knowing what exactly Camilla wanted me to see.
I walked forward and casually pulled away a piece of white cloth.
“Clang!”
Something fell to the floor.
I looked down and saw it was a picture frame.
I bent down to pick it up, and the moment I saw the front clearly, I froze completely.
It was a group photo.
Two almost identical children stood side by side, one cold and expressionless, the other smiling warmly with gentle eyes.
Below the photo was a line of small text: “Elder brother Ferris Vargan, younger brother Dennis Vargan.”
Ferris… Dennis…
My heart suddenly began beating rapidly, and an inexplicable panic seized me.
I hurriedly pulled away more white cloths and found several more photos.

Chapter 176
This time they were adult photos.
In the photo, the man on the right wore a suit with a cold expression; the man on the left wore casual clothes with gentle eyes as before.
Although the two looked exactly the same, standing together, the difference in temperament was obvious–they were not the same person.
Below the photo, it similarly read: “Ferris&Dennis.”
I could barely stand steady.
