The blizzard outside was fierce, the wind howling like the roar of wild beasts at the window.
I fell into a very long dream, hazy and unclear. I couldn’t remember anything only feeling people talking intermittently by my ear.

Victoria’s footsteps gradually faded away. I forced myself to open my heavy eyelids, exhaustion pressing down so heavily I could barely breathe.
Headache, aching limbs – I instinctively placed my hand on my abdomen, slowly moving it down. Seeing the bandages wrapped around my leg, I finally confirmed I wasn’t dead – but wasn’t much better off either.
“Miss Aurora, you’re awake?” A nurse came in, just preparing to change my dressing. Seeing me open my eyes, she looked delighted.
I opened my mouth, my throat painfully dry: “My child…”
“The child is fine.” The nurse quickly answered, “You only suffered some external injuries, and your leg injury is more serious. Fortunately Alpha Ferris blocked you, otherwise the consequences would be unthinkable.”
The passenger seat… I remembered.
That was the most dangerous position.
He really took that impact for me.
I suddenly gripped the blanket tightly: “Where’s Ferris? How is he?”
