Alpha's Regret: False Mate, True Luna novel Chapter 175

Chapter 175

“Long time no see, you’ve changed so much.” Camilla extended her hand toward me.

I didn’t shake it, just smiled and nodded: “You haven’t changed much.”

Her hand froze in mid–air, her expression stiffening momentarily before she casually withdrew it.

“Would you mind going out to chat?” she asked gently.

I nodded without saying anything.

Camilla had married into the Vargan family earlier than me When I had just gotten engaged to Ferris, she always liked to come find me for heart–to–heart talks, smiling with apparent kindness, as if she were truly a caring older sister.

But once I actually married in and she discovered I was just an illegitimate daughter not beloved by my Alpha father, her true nature was completely exposed.

I had to admit, some people were actors in their bones. After performing for so long, they almost believed it themselves.

Walking on the winding path to the backyard, she changed the subject, her tone becoming somewhat softer: “Do you know? When I heard you and Ferris had a conflict, I was very worried about you both. I couldn’t sleep all night.”

The hypocrisy between adults didn’t need to be exposed.

I turned my head and smiled: “Really? Worried I’d take away his fortune?”

Her expression changed subtly for a moment, but she didn’t respond.

When I first married in, she had given me plenty of trouble behind the scenes.

That year when Ferris went missing while handling a project abroad, the Vargan family’s upper echelons were restless. I held the situation together alone, running to almost every relative and executive’s home, begging them to stabilize family affairs.

Everyone thought Ferris was dead. But I refused to believe it I went alone to another pack, unfamiliar with the place, just to find him.

Fortunately, I encountered Ferris’s business partner. Not only did I help negotiate a key deal for him, but I even gained the old Alpha’s recognition, briefly being allowed to participate in core family affairs.

Unfortunately, Camilla ruined it all.

She spread rumors everywhere, saying I had seduced some noble werewolf in another pack, even embellishing the story as if it were true.

And this was just one of her many “achievements.”

As memories surfaced, my expression remained calm, but my gaze grew several degrees colder.

Camilla looked at me and laughed dryly: “After all these years, you’re more humorous than before.”
