Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 73

“What are these?” Monique noticed Angel’s pockets were stuffed when she carried her into the car.

“Guess.” Angel tapped her pockets while she raised her head, giggling.

“Mommy doesn’t know… Can you tell me?” Monique said childishly, pouting like Angel did.

Henry almost burst out laughing when he heard the way Monique was acting, but he held in the urge, only raising an eyebrow.

Angel raised her tiny hands and poured out everything from her pockets. They were all snacks and little toys.

“Where did you get these from?” Monique was shocked that there were so many things in Angel’s tiny pocket.

“The people in the office gave them to me. I told them that I’m not allowed to eat food from strangers, so I just put it in my pocket,” Angel looked up and said proudly while she stared at Monique with her big brown eyes, “They’re so nice to me.”

Monique recalled that when she went up to pick Angel, she did walk out from the general manager’s office.

Monique was glad that so many people liked Angel.

She caressed Angel’s rosy cheeks and said with a warm smile, “Remember to thank them tomorrow.”

“I already did just now,” Angel said, smiling. She stuck her tongue at Monique.

Henry lifted his head; his exquisite features made him seem like a high and mighty emperor. He curled his scarlet lips in a devilish manner. Who would dare to mistreat his daughter?

They were supposed to be nice to her. There was no need to thank them.

She stepped on the brakes too hurriedly and Angel sprung forward from the inertia, and was swung toward the back of the driver’s seat.

A huge hand with slender fingers lashed out and pulled Angel into his arms.

Angel felt a sudden warmth from his embrace. She did not wail as any other child would. She just glanced at Henry with a grateful expression before turning around to the front, “Mommy, are you okay?”

“What is it?” Henry’s handsome face was instantly covered with a layer of frost. His eyes barely contained his anger while he asked in a chilling voice.

It was as if the atmosphere around them was frozen from the coldness he was exuding.

Monique was too focused on the car behind them and forgotten that Angel was onboard. A wave of fear washed over her when she thought about it. Luckily Henry grabbed Angel in time. Right then, she had forgotten about the car behind them and turned worriedly. “Angel, are you okay? Are you hurt?”
