Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 74

Monique’s face looked a little pale, her dark eyes flickered in panic.

“Mommy, I’m okay,” Angel said with a smile.

Angel was actually quite startled, but fortunately, Daddy caught her and hugged her tightly.

Thank goodness for Daddy!

Angel turned around and put her chubby arms around Henry’s neck. She pouted her soft lips and gave him a peck on his cheek, “Thanks for protecting me, Daddy. You’re the best.”

She was so quick that she caught him by surprise.

The corner of Henry’s eye twitched. At that moment, it was as time stood still. The softness of his daughter’s lips and her milky scent sent a jolt of electricity into his heart.

He had never thought that he would be moved by such a simple gesture. Angel did not just give him a kiss; she even praised him.

The bliss he was experiencing could not be expressed in words. Perhaps this was the joy of being a parent.

She was just so lovely.

He tightened his embrace around her tiny figure subconsciously and planted a kiss on her cheek.

His stubble was ticklish against Angel’s face, making her giggle continuously.

“I think someone’s following us. I got worried and wanted to look at who they were and braked too quickly,” Monique explained carefully while she stared out of the window. She was too worried about Angel getting hurt and did not manage to look at the car plate number or the other driver.

How dare they follow his car?

Henry frowned slightly with a fierce expression. He had focused entirely on Angel and did not notice his surroundings. He looked outside and saw the cars passing them; it seemed normal--nothing unusual.

He pursed his lips, his brooding eyes slightly lowered. Monique’s eyes drooped; she felt a little weak when she saw his doubtful expression. She looked outside and saw that everything was back to normal.

There was a tug in Henry’s heart when he saw a worrisome expression on Monique’s pretty face.

“Don’t worry, I’ll have someone look into it,” Henry said slowly in a deep, casual tone.
