Father and daughter!
It was as though the world had crumbled.
Monique suddenly understood the entire incident. All this while, she could not comprehend Henry’s actions and finally she understood why Henry always chose her over other women.
Her face, which was already pale, now paled even more.
Her hands were shaking as she held the documents.
Previously, she could not comprehend why Henry treated Angel so well--so exceptionally well to a point where she thought that Henry might be a pedophile.
She could not make out why would Henry, a nobleman, would suddenly treat them so well.
On a few occasions, Henry would confidently say to Angel, “I’m your father!”
At that moment, Monique dared not imagine it to be true. Whenever he said that he was Angel’s father, she would think of it as a joke. She did not think that it would be possible.
However, the report before her clearly stated their relationship.
Monique subconsciously got to her feet and walked out of the office. The gorgeous secretary called out to her when saw her walking out from the chairman’s office, “Miss Xander, are you looking for the chairman?”
She did not hear her as she walked out of the office like a zombie and entered the elevator.
A ‘ding’ was heard and suddenly, she was out of Marriott international without her realizing it. She even bumped into a guy at the entrance, whom she did not even notice.
She wandered aimlessly until she reached a busway platform. A public bus came to a halt. She, along with a crowd, entered the bus.
The person who Monique bumped into was Logan Graham. Henry had gone for a meeting and it was still going on despite it being lunchtime. He went downstairs to have his lunch and brought Henry some food as well.
However, he did not realize who bumped into him as he was answering a call. The person who bumped to him just went off without even apologizing.
“Watch where you’re going.” Logan raised his gaze to the person who bumped him.
She was familiar, with a slim figure, short and bushy black hair, a stunning palm-sized melon-face, her skin was silky white, and her gorgeous black eyes stared straight ahead, lifelessly.
A sense of sorrow was seen in her eyes.
The public bus went on for quite some time and it eventually came to a halt by the beach.
“Young lady, the bus has reached the station!”
“Young lady, the bus has reached the station!”
It turned out that Monique fell asleep on the bus without her realizing.
She got down from the bus, still confused. She trembled when the breeze blew to her.
She spun around and realized she was at the beach.
The beach in the evening was just mesmerizing; the sky was painted with an orange-red sunset glow while the ocean glowed gold.
The ocean sparkled as the calming breeze lightened Monique’s mood, which had been depressed earlier.
Monique looked at the big rocks at the beach. She wanted to be alone. She was so eager to reunite with Angel’s biological father, hoping to provide her with a complete family, but things had turned out this way, throwing her for a loop.
