Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 517

'What an ungrateful woman! Why did I come to like such a woman! In her dreams! I'm just teasing her. That's all! It's just because she's Angel's mother!'

Perhaps that was why Henry was treating her differently.

Henry was apoplectic with rage when he thought back to Monique, who was willing to do anything for Simon.

The room seemed to have dropped a few degrees, freezing over, as soon as Logan finished.

Logan smiled and put on an 'It's alright if you don't feel like answering' expression. In fact, Logan knew what Henry's answer to his question was.

Just when Logan was still thinking of ways to convey his opinion, Mandy showed up at the doorway, knocking.

Logan sat up straight and extinguished the fire on his cigarette.

The entire office was filled with the cigarette scent. Mandy, with a smile on her face, came in and said, "Mr. Moore, there’s an important meeting in five minutes."

Henry nodded. He let a lot of unsettled business compile over the past two days when he was not in his mind to work. Henry picked up his cigarette with his long, delicate fingers, inhaled it, and extinguished the flame in the ashtray.

He puffed one last smoke, got to his feet, and went to the meeting room.

Everyone was already present in the room except for the chairman. A few of them whispered among themselves, "Don't tell me the chairman isn’t coming for the meeting again?!"

"The chairman did not attend last afternoon's meeting. It's rare of him to do that!"

In the next second, the temperature in the office plummeted instantly and the lively meeting room dropped silent in an instant.

Henry, whose figure was much better than any celebrity, was like a mobile air conditioner. The atmosphere in the office suddenly became cold when he entered the conference room, bringing in an immense pressure.

None of the participants in the meeting room dared breathe.

"Thanks, but I want to go talk it out with him alone." Monique looked at Louise, grateful.

Monique wanted to go to the company and look for Henry. She had told him earlier that she would be willing to do anything so long as Henry let Simon off the hook.

Therefore, Monique had no idea what would happen later on when she got in touch with Henry.

Louise saw Monique's pale face and asked, concerned, "Will you be alright by yourself?"

Monique raised her gaze to look at Louise, lips pursed, as she tried to express a composed presentation. "Don't worry. Simon promised to leave the city. I'm just heading over to let him know. Maybe the battery of his handphone is dead."

"Do you want to try calling the office number? Maybe the chairman is in his office?" Louise asked.

Monique shook her head. She knew that Henry refused to pick up the call. No matter how many times she was going to call, Henry would never answer. Monique had no choice but to head over to the company.
