When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 750

It was absolutely infuriating.

Lemira spoke coolly. “All you ever had over me was threatening me with our parents. But now that everything is in my hands, what can you possibly use against me?”

“But you promised,” Asher retorted, “that once you got those things, you’d delete the video and never mention it again. Yet today, you played it in front of everyone. You broke your word.”

Asher finished, but when he saw the triumphant curve of Lemira’s lips, a sense of dread crept over him.

Lemira let out a laugh. “You said it, not me.”

After all, Evander would never have believed her—but hearing it come from Asher’s own mouth was another matter entirely.

Asher was stunned, realizing what he’d just revealed.

He looked at Evander, guilt written all over his face.

Evander wasn’t a fool; he understood immediately. He was so angry, his lips turned white. “Asher, are you telling me that video is real?”

Asher was at a loss for words, unable to answer.

Evander turned to Lucian. “Lucian, tell me—is it true?”

Lucian hesitated, clearly conflicted. “It was just… an accident.”

“So everyone knew except for me?”

Evander felt utterly betrayed.

No doubt, all the staff at the villa knew as well. Everyone must have been laughing at him behind his back.

Evelina quickly interjected, “I was set up, Evander! Lemira framed me—you saw it yourself, that was Lemira’s room!”

No sooner had she finished than Evander struck her hard across the face. “You lying bitch! You’re still trying to deceive me.”

Evander was livid, nearly beside himself.

Evelina’s face was swollen from the blows.

Just then, she noticed her phone light up with a new message.

After seeing that the money had been transferred, Evelina stood up quietly. She faced Evander and sneered, “I told you I was framed by Lemira. Are you deaf?”

“Evelina, what’s with this attitude?”

Evelina had always felt deeply wronged by this.

Asher was furious. “Evelina, have you lost your mind? What nonsense are you spouting? That inheritance was left by our parents—what does it have to do with you?”

Hadn’t Evelina always been the sweet, obedient one?

“But didn’t you always say I was your sister? If that’s true, then I deserve a share too. That’s what fairness looks like!”

Evelina fixed Asher with a hard stare. “If you were really fair, Asher, you’d kill Lemira right now. She’s the one who ruined the wedding. Just look at her—showing up in black, with a white flower in her hair, at a wedding!”

At this, Lemira took the white flower from her hair and strode forward, shoving it straight into Evelina’s mouth.

Her voice was icy. “Why would I ever attend the wedding of the daughter of my parents’ killer?”

Not a chance.

Lemira’s words stabbed into Asher like a knife.

He glared at her. “What are you trying to say?”

Lemira turned, her gaze cold and distant. “I’m saying Evelina’s father isn’t dead at all.”
