When the high-definition video began to play, the room erupted in chaos.
The instant Evelina saw the footage, she was on the verge of losing control—Lemira had actually released the video! Hadn’t Lemira promised to delete it? That wretched woman! Evelina seethed with rage, determined to have her father take revenge on Lemira.
Desperately, Evelina turned to Evander, pleading, “Evander, this video is fake—it’s been edited! Lemira is trying to ruin me!”
Without hesitation, Evander slapped Evelina across the face. “Do you think I don’t recognize that room? Who could possibly fake a video this convincingly?”
Crying and holding her cheek, Evelina insisted, “I swear, the video is fake!”
Evander was livid. “Evelina, you shameless woman! You even slept with the head butler!”
He could hardly believe she would stoop so low—even with the head butler.
Lucian stepped in, holding Evander back. “It’s a fake. Don’t believe it—not in front of all these people.”
Evander was furious enough to want to kill Evelina, but Lucian was right. They couldn’t admit the video was real, not now, not with all these guests watching. They had to stick to the story that it was a forgery, or their reputation would be ruined.
Evelina rushed at Lemira, sobbing, “Lemmy, why are you framing me? I know you’re jealous that I took the attention of our brothers, but I never wanted to take anything from you.”
At this moment, Evelina truly wished she could kill Lemira.
Asher grabbed Lemira’s wrist in a tight grip. “Apologize! Admit you were wrong!”
He couldn’t let Lemira destroy the Langston family—not today, especially with the PZ Group’s president present. They couldn’t afford such disgrace. Admitting the video was real was out of the question.
Lemira shot Asher a glance, then effortlessly flipped him over her shoulder, sending him sprawling to the ground.
She brushed her hands off, unbothered. “The video is real. Why should I apologize? I did this for Evander’s sake—to keep him from being deceived by a manipulative woman.”
Asher grimaced as he got up from the lawn; if it hadn’t been for the soft grass, he might have been seriously hurt.
Pointing at Lemira, Asher shouted, “You get out! Don’t ever come back to the Langston family!”
“You’ve got it all wrong,” Lemira replied coldly. “This villa belongs to me. If anyone should leave, it’s all of you.”
She stood her ground, her gaze icy. Looking around at the assembled guests, she pulled out copies of the property deed. “This is my house. Please leave. The wedding is over.”
He had no choice but to let them go.
Mrs. Waverly and Sophia promptly led Mack away.
Susanna turned back and sneered, “Tsk tsk. I knew Lemira was up to no good, showing up dressed in black like she’s going to a funeral.”
Asher looked over and realized Lemira was indeed dressed head-to-toe in black, with a white flower in her hair—funeral attire.
Forcing himself to see the guests out, Asher then turned, his face dark with fury, and strode toward Lemira as if he might devour her alive.
He was determined to destroy her today.
Lucian moved to block him. “Asher, let’s talk this through—calmly.”
“Get out of my way! I have to teach Lemira a lesson she’ll never forget. Look at what she’s done—she’s disgraced the entire Langston family! I’ll beat her to death if I have to!”
Asher jabbed a finger at Lemira’s face and shouted, “You pulled the same stunt at the Waverly party, and now you’re doing it again! Do you really think I can’t do anything about it?”
