Chapter 370
No one was here!
Even the assassins were baffled. How could the Stone Forest be completely empty?
Where on earth did Leon’s team disappear to?
The assassins huddled together, whispering in hushed tones.
From Jessica’s vantage point, she could only make out their silhouettes but couldn’t hear a word they were saying.
Suddenly, a sharp whistle pierced the air, followed by several more in rapid succession.
Jessica’s eyes darkened as she swiftly raised her spyglass toward the distant mountain ridge.
On the opposite ridge, a white figure flashed by.
Before Jessica could get a clear look at the figure, she quickly grabbed Leanna by the arm and darted behind the nearest boulder.
Leanna asked, “What’s wrong?” She moved with lightning–fast reflexes. Though she wasn’t sure what was happening, she instinctively matched Jessica’s movements. Their coordination was second nature, requiring no training at all.
“Someone’s directing those assassins from the opposite ridge!” Jessica whispered urgently.
Jessica cautiously peered through her spyglass at the opposite ridge.
“We’ve been spotted,” Jessica whispered. The figure had already vanished. All she’d caught was a fleeting glimpse of white.
Jessica didn’t know whether the person was male or female, nor could she discern their figure. T

must have been hiding behind the boulder, just like
Suddenly, the sounds of battle erupted from the Stone Forest below!
Jessica and Leanna exchanged a quick glance. Jessica immediately picked up her spyglass and was stunned by what she saw.
“So they were here all along. But they’re trapped inside!”
Leon was truly awesome. He was already so close to them, yet neither she nor Alivia could detect where his troops were concealed!
The black–clad assassins scattered in panic as the Northern Cavalry suddenly emerged. In the chaos, one of them fumbled and tossed a thunder grenade, which exploded with a deafening blast. But from Jessica’s vantage point, it appeared the explosion hadn’t harmed a single soldier.
In their panic, one of the assassins fumbled and ended up injuring his own men.
It was clear at a glance that these were highly trained professionals, yet they still made such blunders. This just showed how utterly terrifying the Northern Cavalry’s sudden appearance must have been!
Jessica felt a pang of disappointment. While dodging the enemy spotter’s gaze from the opposite ridge, she’d completely missed the Northern Cavalry’s.
entrance.
As a soldier, Jessica couldn’t help but admire their tactics immensely.
True warriors respected true warriors. Whether it was Leon or the Eagle Troops, they were all remarkable!
“I’ve figured out Leon’s plan!” Jessica narrowed her eyes, observing the battle below. “He doesn’t understand the Mystic Trigram Tactical Formation. He can’t get out, so he can only wait for the assassins to enter, then spare one and follow them out.”

If this were truly the case, the people on the opposite hilltop would also see it clearly. Most likely, he would soon find a way to ensure that the assassin died within the stone forest, never giving Leon the chance to follow them out.
Sure enough, the thought had barely formed in Jessica’s mind when a sharp whistle suddenly rang out from the opposite ridge.
