Cecilia was somewhat incredulous to hear Magnus' request. His friend? He must be talking about Denise. After all, with him being down on his luck at the moment, his fair-weather friends have long since abandoned him.
"All right, give me your friend's parents' information, and I'll have someone look for them," Cecilia stated.
"Okay, thank you, Cecilia. You're amazing," Magnus replied.
As a matter of fact, he had never thanked Cecilia with such raw sincerity—not even when she helped clear his debts previously.
Cecilia also sensed the sincerity in his tone and found it unbelievable. He really has changed.
"I can't guarantee I'll be able to find them, so don't thank me so soon," she said.
"Yeah, okay," Magnus replied.
With that, he quickly went to Denise to get Brycen's and Calliope's information.
Upon seeing the documents, Cecilia realized it was just as she had guessed—the friend Magnus spoke of was indeed Denise.
"I want to ask you a question," Cecilia suddenly said.
"Ask away, Cecilia," Magnus replied.
"Why did you ask for my help for a friend?" Cecilia inquired.
In the past, Magnus would only approach her for his own interest, never for anyone else.
Magnus stammered at that question. "This person is my lifesaver. I have to repay her."
Hah, a lifesaver. Cecilia didn't think Magnus had much conscience or gratitude. If I had been the one to save him, he definitely wouldn't be grateful; instead, he would feel that he deserved it.
"All right. Wait for my update," Cecilia said in the end.
"Got it." Only then did Magnus feel reassured and hung up the phone.
He rushed out to tell Denise the news. "Denise, don't worry. My sister agreed to help out, so we'll definitely find your parents."
A glimmer of hope arose in Denise's heart. "Really?"
Denise's eyes were full of worry. "It's so cold. Where could they have gone to?"
"Don't worry. Let's search slowly. I'm sure we'll find them," Magnus reassured her.

While Denise and Magnus were searching for Brycen and Calliope, back in Tudela, Cecilia had also mobilized her people to find out the two elders' whereabouts.
Additionally, the bodyguard who had been following Magnus reported to Cecilia, "The two elders are suffering from severe illnesses. They left secretly because they're afraid of burdening their daughter."
Cecilia acknowledged his report with a thoughtful hum and then instructed, "Find them as quickly as possible. The weather is so cold right now; it isn't safe for them to be outside."
Based on Cecilia's observations, Denise was a good girl, so she intended to help her out as much as possible.
Cecilia spent some money and deployed many resources to search for Brycen and Calliope. Soon, she received news of their whereabouts.
"They're in a motel in Riverside City," the bodyguard reported.
