Almost as if possessed, Eloise inexplicably stepped out of the car and followed along.
It had been many years since she last saw Cecilia. The most recent encounter was merely through an online video.
Cecilia's appearance hadn't changed much, but there was a significant shift in her aura.
Following Cecilia, she arrived at the shopping mall.
At that moment, Cecilia was with Charlotte, busily choosing winter clothes for herself, her husband, and her mother's child.
Upon spotting a beautiful dress, Charlotte immediately called out for Cecilia.
“Boss, what do you think about this dress? I think it looks great, and it would suit you perfectly,” Charlotte said, reaching out to take the dress off the rack to show it to Cecilia.
Yet, a hand had swiftly taken away the dress first.
The person who arrived was indeed Eloise.
Holding the dress in her hands, Eloise gave it a quick once-over. Indeed, it was quite nice.
Charlotte instantly became displeased. “Excuse me, miss. I saw this dress first.”
Upon hearing her words, Eloise feigned a look of confusion.
“Oh, really? I didn't see you. Besides, who said that spotting it first makes it yours? You didn't even pay for it.”
“Why are you like this?” Charlotte frowned, yet she didn't know how to refute Eloise.
At this moment, Cecilia went over, and she recognized the person in front of her.
“Eloise?” called out Cecilia.
It seemed like Eloise had only just recognized her. “Oh, it's you, Ceci.”
Charlotte wore a puzzled expression. “Boss, do you know each other?”
Cecilia gave a nod.
“Yes. She is the daughter of Mr. Escobar who visited our company today.”
Cecilia relayed to Charlotte, essentially letting her know that she did know Eloise, but their relationship was far from good.
Charlotte immediately understood why Eloise had taken the dress she had set her heart on.
Charlotte had always admired her boss' taste, but what on earth was happening today?
“Um...” Charlotte was just about to speak the truth.
From the side, Eloise was heard saying, “This outfit is indeed quite nice. I'll take it, too.”
Eloise didn't care how expensive the clothes were, nor did she bother to check the price. She simply instructed the sales assistant to wrap them up.
How much could a few pieces of clothing possibly be worth?
At that moment, Charlotte understood.
How could Boss be so cunning? Eloise's wallet is going to suffer!
The sales associate hadn't expected it. That outfit had been on display for almost a year now, and no one had bought it. To their surprise, someone had finally shown up today to purchase it. What an odd customer...
“Okay.”
Without uttering another word, she went to pack the outfit.
