Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1809

Mavis glanced at Nathaniel but did not say a word.

Nathaniel chuckled and replied, "Made up? We didn't have a fight or anything. You're just overreacting."

As he spoke, he put his arm around Mavis's waist, his actions intimate and close.

Mavis was momentarily stunned by his sudden display of affection, but Nathaniel was already pulling her upstairs before she could fully react.

Once they reached the bedroom, Nathaniel started tidying up the bed without saying much.

Mavis stood beside him, lost in thought as she watched him work.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, and it instantly brought Mavis back to reality.

She hurried to open the door and found Gabrielle standing there with two maids behind her, all carrying her stuff.

Gabrielle had a big smile on her face and asked, "Nate, I brought Mae's things over. Is there anything else you need me to do?"

Mavis froze.

She had not expected Gabrielle to be so quick!

She was still processing what had just happened.

Nathaniel took the box from Gabrielle's hands.

"Yes, please get the guest room ready. Asher and Adora will be staying there tomorrow night."

Upon hearing that the twins were coming, Gabrielle became even more excited.

''Oh, great! I'll go buy some things for the kids. It'll be so fun to have them around!''

Before Nathaniel could respond, she was already on her way out, practically skipping.

After Gabrielle left, Nathaniel set up the couch for himself.

He noticed that Mavis was still standing there in a daze, and he said casually, ''You'll sleep in the bed tonight, and I'll take the couch.''

''But…''

Feeling her gaze on him, Nathaniel became a bit self-conscious and rubbed his nose.

''Your body hasn't fully recovered yet. You can't sleep on the couch.''

Was that the only reason?

Mavis was not entirely convinced.

''Don't worry. I won't take advantage of the situation.''

Before Marius could finish his sentence, Gabrielle quickly interrupted him.

''Enough, Marius. Don't lecture me. You should be finding a girlfriend for yourself instead. You know Grandma has high hopes for her grandsons! She's looking forward to having great-grandchildren. You had better get a move on!''

Upstairs, in the bedroom, Mavis entered the bathroom and turned on the hot water, letting the steam fill the room.

She usually spent fifteen minutes on her evening routine, but this night, she stayed in the bathroom for nearly an hour.

Her long hair was only half-dried, cascading loosely over her shoulders.

She was wearing a new adorable Pikachu pajama set she had bought recently.

As she tiptoed to the bed, she saw Nathaniel reading the newspaper on the couch.

Mavis snuck a glance at him and quickly slid under the covers, burying her face in the pillow so only a few golden strands of hair peeked out.

Seeing that she was ready for bed, Nathaniel turned off the lights.

When the room finally went dark, Mavis slowly peeked out from the covers and took a deep breath.

With Nathaniel's sudden presence in the room, the air seemed to grow thin, making it hard for her to breathe.
