Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1661

The situation went on for three days, with rumors spreading like wildfire.

The absurd part was that someone had even locked her in the bathroom out of spite.

Files went missing, food condiments were smeared on her seat, and a dead mouse was found under her keyboard…

Mavis was at her wit's end as the constant pranks and harassment were relentless.

Every time she walked through the office, she could feel the eyes on her and hear the whispers and sneers no matter where she hid.

It was as if she was a magnet for their contempt.

Finding another dead bug under her keyboard was the last straw.

Mavis could not take it anymore!

She typed up her resignation letter and sent it to Aileen.

No matter how much she wanted to work with Nathaniel, she could no longer stand being the subject of office gossip.

Aileen was shocked to receive Mavis's resignation.

Why would such a bright young woman suddenly want to leave?

Aileen had been so busy with company matters that she did not have time to check in on Mavis and had no idea what was happening.

She quickly forwarded Mavis's resignation to Nathaniel and rushed out of her office.

Spotting Mavis packing up her things, she tapped on her desk and asked, "What happened? Why are you resigning?"

Mavis lowered her head, hiding her reddening eyes and holding back the stubborn tears.

Aileen gently led her to a quiet corner.

Once alone, she asked, "Tell me, what's going on?"

"Ms. Hayward, I'm sorry, but please just approve my resignation. Let me leave."

For Mavis, the pressure was not just from the company.

It was a message from Nathaniel, reading, [Send her up.]

Aileen showed Mavis the message and said, "Mr. Nicholls already knows about your resignation. Talk to him. If he approves it, I can finalize it quickly. Relax. You worked hard to get a position here based on your own capabilities. Unless it's something unbearable, consider staying. The job market isn't great right now. Think about the consequences."

After speaking, Aileen left, and Mavis took a moment to steady her emotions.

As she rode the elevator up, Mavis felt a wave of nervousness.

Even though she had worked at the Nicholls Group for a while, she had never been to Nathaniel's office or even his floor.

When the elevator doors opened, Tommy was already waiting for her.

"Mr. Nicholls is aware of what's going on in the company. Don't be too nervous."

Then, he escorted Mavis to the office and then left.

Nathaniel sat in his chair with his back to her, facing away from her for the longest time.

He did not say a word, and Mavis just stood there silently.
