In other words, Vera had only recently formed a contract with these mates of hers.
"Yes," Vera said in reply to her previous question. "I wasn't in a hurry to form a contract with them before, as I was pursuing Scott at the time. Considering he was the most capable among them, I wanted him to be my primary mate.
"However, after seeing you calm down several S-grade and above male therians the other day, I came to an epiphany and knew that I should just give up on him. That's why I couldn't keep the rest waiting either.
"After all, they also love me very much, and I can't be causing the people who love me to feel aggrieved for the sake of someone who doesn't."
She lowered her eyes for a moment, then smiled sweetly at Analise with tears gathering at the corners of her eyes. "You have no idea how happy they were on the day I told them that I was preparing to form a contract with them."
She smiled and wiped the tears from her eyes, only to burst into tears of laughter immediately afterward. "However, it later devolved into complete chaos as they fought for the right to become my primary mate."
Analise handed her a tissue. "I'm sorry."
"I'm the one who should be sorry," said Vera, glancing from Analise to Scott before pulling the former aside slightly and adding quietly, "Derek didn't lose control out of nowhere."
She bit her lip and took a cautious peek at Scott.
Surprise flashed in Analise's eyes, and she immediately looked at Vera. "What?"
"My younger brother—Hector—heard that Scott had chosen to become the guardian of a pure human female, Ana," explained Vera. "He was angry on my behalf. At that time, you just so happened to make a post saying that you were going to calm down a male therian, so…"
She did not finish her sentence, knowing that Analise was smart and could piece things together from there.
Getting Scott to lighten his punishment was simple, but Vera's younger brother, Hector, was probably the "Mr. Khielson" person that Derek and the others had mentioned down in the underground prison.
Since he was suspected of having ties to the Reclaimers, considering the situation with Sawyer and the Ironhorn Alliance, the fact that he was injured was no small matter.
There were several robot females that had not yet been found. Clarice was currently in a coma, and Gideon was still conducting research on her.
They had still been unable to locate those robot females, and Analise was not sure whether any robot females had already been brought back to the Stormclaw Alliance.
Thanks to developments from the previous incident, they might even have found a way to provide the female robots protection now.
Of course, all of this was just conjecture on her part.
