The World of Beasts: She's Got Their Hearts novel Chapter 170

Dust and smoke erupted into the air, following a loud boom.

Ophir's figure was soon enveloped by the swirling dust.

"It's that doll!" Analise seemed slightly surprised at the doll, which had slowly emerged from underground—there was more than one of them.

She had seen one earlier by the metal gate, but there were several more now.

Analise couldn't help but glance at young Gideon. "You're young but quite smart."

"Do I thank you for the compliment, Ana?" Young Gideon was sliding one hand across a control panel, operating it with the other, yet still found time to respond.

"Mm-hmm." Analise raised a brow. "Can you restrain Ophir—ideally so it can't move at all?"

"I can try." Gideon went into action again. His slender fingers tapped rapidly on the transparent panel.

Analise didn't waste any more words. This time, she had enough Purification Arrows. So, she and Gideon coordinated their efforts to take down Ophir.

Since the host's heart was key, all they needed was to successfully pierce Ophir's heart with a Purification Arrow, even if all that did was separate Ophir from Sean's body.

"Even though you've devoured Sean's soul, it isn't completely gone, is it? It's more like you are fused with it—you're just suppressing it for now," Analise suddenly addressed Ophir.

"So what?" Ophir snapped off the mechanical arm of one doll, then instantly traveled to the top of another doll.

"Nothing. Just thinking that a Purification Arrow might be able to awaken his soul," Analise said, releasing her arrow.

Ophir dodged immediately.

Analise followed up with shot after shot.

"Your archery skill is not that great, is it?" Ophir sneered, not realizing the danger in the moment it had paused.

A smirk played on young Gideon's lips as he gently tapped the transparent panel.

A laser pod appeared immediately, trapping Ophir inside.

"Trying to run?" Ophir followed, but once it landed, it found no one in sight.

It immediately realized Analise must have employed some system tool.

"Don't move," Analise whispered, pulling Gideon down beside some discarded furniture.

In a moment of desperation, she had activated an invisibility tool. Now, she crouched with Gideon in a corner of the junk heap.

It was a weapon she'd gotten from her starter pack—twin daggers that could be split into two or joined into a double-bladed knife.

"Ana, you're hurt." Gideon, who had a sharp sense of smell, instinctively looked at Analise's body.

"It cut me when I pulled you while escaping over the wall, but it's just a minor wound. It's no big deal."
