"She probably has something to do with the Vexoths," uttered a disheveled male while munching on a piece of dry grass.

Suddenly, silence blanketed the dungeon.

"Ana, it's ready. Have a seat," said Finlay. He had gathered the hay in the corner of the cell and created a moderate-sized bed. Worried that Analise would feel uncomfortable, he placed his tail on it to let her sit on it.

"Hey, man. What did you do to get in here? Why is your girl here as well?" The male from the next cell assumed Analise was Finlay's partner when he saw how Finlay took care of her.

However, Finlay did not answer the male.

The male munching on the dry grass scoffed. "Like I said, it must have something to do with the Vexoths."

"How do you know that?" Analise walked to the cell door and stared at the male.

He had a tail, but his hair was too messy for Analise to identify what animal ears he had.

"The females are placed on pedestals. They'll never get locked up, even if they beat a male to death. All they'll get is a scolding and then be given another male to beat up.

"Hence, you must be connected to the Vexoths. After all, they are the enemy of the entire Interstellar Alliance. Gender is not a factor when dealing with them."

Analise nodded. "That makes sense. Why are you here?"

"I killed a male," said the male plainly as if it were a normal thing.

Analise was stunned and chose not to ask further when she thought of what he said earlier.

Seeing Analise turning around and moving toward the pile of hay, the male hurriedly grabbed the metal.

"I'm just curious—if you're a good female, why would you be involved with the Vexoths?"

The male returned to his pile of hay and dozed off without waiting for Analise's answer. Meanwhile, Analise was silent for a moment before sitting on the hay in the corner.

"Finlay, can you turn into your beast form and let me lean against you while I sleep?" Analise asked, glancing at Finlay. She had not claimed the level-up reward thanks to everything that happened that day.

"Okay," replied Finlay, transforming into his wolf form and lying on the pile of hay.

Analise found a suitable spot and lay on Finlay, pretending to sleep while claiming her level-up reward.
