The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1466

The eyes that used to instinctively follow her every move were now fathomless, making it impossible to read his mood.

Beside him sat a woman.

She had soft, flowing hair and a demure makeup look, dressed in a pastel dress. She leaned quietly against him, the picture of an obedient, sweet companion.

Rebecca recognized her.

She was Sammie's fiancée. Rumor had it she was an arranged match, a connection forged only months ago, but the news of their engagement was the talk of the entire social circle.

Seeing Rebecca suddenly crash the room, the entire crowd froze.

People exchanged subtle glances; others immediately sealed their lips.

Everyone knew exactly what Rebecca and Sammie meant to each other.

They weren't family, but they might as well have been. Ten years of entanglement, surviving life and death side by side.

Now that Sammie was engaged, Rebecca barging in created an agonizingly tense, delicate atmosphere.

When Sammie saw her, his brow twitched ever so slightly. A flash of surprise passed through his eyes before he slipped back into his icy composure. He didn't speak; he just stared at her.

Ignoring the dozens of eyes burning into her, Rebecca walked straight up to him and stopped.

She looked down at him, her gaze piercing, her voice crisp, calm, and laced with an uncontainable frost.

"Sammie," she began, biting off every syllable. "You owe me an explanation."

The room fell dead silent.

Everyone could tell she was out for blood.

Sammie sat motionless, a cigarette wedged between his fingers. His voice was a low, emotionless rumble. "Why are you here?"

"If I wasn't," Rebecca let out a laugh, though the amusement never reached her eyes, leaving only sheer mockery, "how would I know you were taking such good care of me behind my back?"
