Felicia drove Anne to the kindergarten.
When they arrived at the school, she happened to run into Heather, who was chatting with a young woman.
Spotting Felicia, Heather called out her name.
Felicia led Anne over, and the little girl greeted them politely. "Aunt Heather, Aunt Caroline."
Caroline's son had transferred to this kindergarten this year.
It was quite a coincidence.
Five years ago, during Felicia's pregnancy, Caroline had been her one on one yoga instructor. She had actually graduated with a degree in ballet.
When Felicia went abroad to study, the two of them had stayed in touch online. Caroline would give her advice on weight loss and body sculpting. Later, Caroline married into a wealthy family and moved to New York with her husband.
Felicia had continued training with her for another year. Whether it was body sculpting or cosmetic treatments, Caroline had customized every plan for her. Caroline had an incredibly good aesthetic taste. In terms of beauty and style, Felicia had essentially learned everything from her.
Because of her husband's business, they eventually left New York and settled in the UK.
After that, the two rarely kept in touch, only occasionally exchanging holiday greetings.
Felicia never expected to run into Caroline while dropping Anne off at kindergarten in the middle of last month.
Caroline had barely recognized Felicia.
It had been so long since they last saw each other, and they had ended up chatting for a long time.
Felicia learned that they had came back at the beginning of the year and would likely stay permanently. Her son, Rick, was a year younger than Anne. He took after Caroline and was an exceptionally handsome little boy. He was in the same class as Anne and Yara.
Felicia exchanged warm greetings with Caroline.
Afterward, the teacher led Anne inside the kindergarten.
Caroline pulled an invitation card from her designer bag and handed it to Felicia. "It is Rick's birthday this weekend. I would sincerely love to invite you and your husband to attend."
Felicia looked at the invitation, reaching out to accept it. "Thank you, we would love to come."
The group chatted for a few more minutes.
Jeremy set down the documents in his hand and softened his voice. "If you have any concerns, you can tell me directly, Felicia."
Felicia lowered her eyes. She wanted to say she had no concerns, but the words lacked conviction before they even left her mouth.
"It is about Anne, is it not?" Jeremy deduced.
If she went to Cloudville, she definitely would not be able to care for Anne anymore. That was the only thing weighing on her heart.
"Arranging for you to go to Cloudville was indeed too rushed," Jeremy assured her. "You can just go over temporarily to take charge of the work. You do not necessarily have to stay there long term."
Felicia reined in her emotions. She could not expect Jeremy to accommodate her every single time.
"Yes, I know."
"Take a nap during your lunch break," he suggested. "We can discuss this further in the afternoon."
"I am fine, Mr. Milman. You do not need to worry."
Jeremy gave her a deep look but did not press the issue. He stood up to get her a cup of coffee. "Let us continue, then."
